Cricket matches with Herald Taverners

CORFU. The visitors had the pleasure of competing not only at the Marina Gouvia ground, but also at the historic Lower Square.
For decades, Corfu has welcomed numerous cricket teams from abroad each summer, most of them from the United Kingdom. The tradition continued this past weekend with the visit of the Herald Taverners team. The guests had the pleasure of playing not only at the Marina Gouvia cricket ground but also at the historic Lower Square (Liston), the Cricket Federation reported, highlighting the following:
"On Saturday, September 6, at the Marina Gouvia cricket ground, we were delighted to host a friendly match with the Herald Taverners, featuring both veteran and active players. It was a wonderful afternoon, full of sporting spirit and camaraderie.
On Sunday at 11:00 a.m., at Lower Square, the Herald Taverners faced off against the Corfu veterans team.
In 2025, the Cricket Federation has already welcomed over 16 foreign teams who planned their visits to Corfu specifically for our sport. This is the clearest proof that with consistency, strategy, and dedicated effort, one can build bridges and attract international attention."
