CORFU. The first match took place at Gouvia Marina ground on Wednesday 19 April and the next one takes place today, Thursday 20th.
The first cricket match to take place in Corfu was 200 years ago and the Hellenic Cricket Federation (ELOK) is celebrating the anniversary with a series of matches against international teams - mainly British.

The first match for the 200th anniversary took place yesterday, 19 April, at the fully renovated Gouvia Marina ground. A mixed Corfu XI, as hosts, played against the British Army team Brigade of Gurkhas at 16:00 and won by 46 runs in a very enjoyable match.
The Corfu XI batted first and scored 187 runs in 20 overs, with Mohamad Asian scoring 54 and Amarpreet scoring 48.
The British team were 137 for 6 in the 20 overs, with Ramesh scoring 52 runs.
The umpires were Ioannis Afthinos and Michalis Revis.
The next match is at the Gouvia ground today at 16:00 with the Mixed Corfu XI playing against the British Army Development XI.
