Tria Gefiria-Vrioni: Completion of survey of unregistered section of land

CORFU. Regional Authority planning is progressing in order to put the contract for the Tria Gefiri-Vrioni bypass out to tender in 2023.
The final survey of the section of land outwith the Land Registry is being completed and Deputy Regional Governor for Technical Works and Infrastructure Manolis Orfanoudakis told Enimerosi that it is now in the final stage.
"98% of the survey of the section not in the Land Registry has been completed," he said. "The soil survey has been completed and all that is remaining is the drawing up of the compulsory purchase table."
When these are finalised he said that they will be sent to the Ministerial Cabinet for approval in order to get the go-ahead to put the contract out to tender. The project was included in the ESPA funding programme by the former Regional Governor Galiatsatos, securing funding of €27.42m.
However, the procedure which the Regional Authority would like to complete by the end of March is likely to be held up by the timing of the elections. The Cabinet is expected to meet for the last time on Friday 3 March ahead of the elections - all indications are that they will be held on 9 April - meaning that things will not progress until after that time.
