161 driving offences in Ionian Islands - 82 considered dangerous

CORFU. 1,076 checks were carried out on vehicles with 161 driving offences, 82 of which were considered dangerous.
Between 27 December 2022 and 1 January 2023 police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks with the following results:

- 18 speeding
- 15 driving under the influence
- 20 not wearing crash helmet
- 10 not wearing seat belts
- 1 using mobile phone whilst driving
- 6 driving on wrong side of road
- 10 without driving licences
- 2 without MOT
