CORFU. Central Corfu Mayor: Programme Agreement to be signed with EODY.
“The results of the analyses of Corfu's sewage samples fortunately do not cause concern”, said Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou today during a press conference, noting that Corfu sends samples every week.
Ms. Ydraiou said that she had recently had a meeting with Professor of Clinical Virology Giorgos Sourvinos, who is a member of EODY's seven-member Board.
“An agreement for a more permanent and stable collaboration between DEYAK (Public Water Company) and EODY and the University of Ioannina laboratory is to be signed, in order to send samples on a weekly basis and to detect the viral load. This way, there will be data and indications of the pandemic's progress at all times”.
She added that this data was requested by many foreign Consulates, in order to provide them with reliable and accurate information on the area’s epidemiological data.
