Tourist injured in Porto Timoni, North Corfu

CORFU. The Fire Department received a call for a rescue team on the 112 emergency number.
According to initial information from the Fire Service, a German man has suffered a leg injury and a team has gone to rescue him.
The accident happened in Porto Timoni, northwest Corfu at around 12:00 on Sunday when the man slipped on a path in rough terrain. According to the ambulance service, his life is not in danger and the injury is not serious.
Due to the fact that the area is difficult to access, the Fire Service estimates that it will take about two hours to free and remove him.

The rescue team was able to free the tourist just before 13:00. The 35-year-old German man is injured but is conscious. He is being taken to Corfu Hospital.
Six firefighters, two members of the Coastguard and two members of the North Corfu Civil Protection Service took part in the rescue operation.
