CORFU. Central Corfu Municipality says, "Spartylas Primary School playground has been literally transformed."
Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality statement:
Spartylas Primary School playground has been literally transformed by the free artificial safety surface from a special competition draw by a tyre recycling company. The installation of prefab classrooms in Corfu Town also continued today.
Before and After
The Municipality had informed schools of the draw being held by the non-profit company Ecoelastika, which recycles tyres in Greece, for an artificial rubber surface for playgrounds. A lot of Corfu schools took part and Spartylas Primary School won. It has made a tremendous difference to the school playground and photos can be seen on the company website here.
Prefab classrooms in Corfu Town
The installation of prefab classrooms continued today. Two classrooms were set up in Spartylas yesterday and four were installed in Corfu Town today. More will be set up in other districts - Kanalia and elsewhere. These classrooms are being added to cover the needs of pre-school pupils.
