To this end, the Municipal Department of Culture & Sport is drawing up a comprehensive plan including the following:

- Mapping out and creating a cycling route on Vidos Island.
- Establishment of a 'Cycling Day' with the town centre being available only for bikes on that day.
- Cooperation with other Greek Municipalities to establish a National Network of cycling-friendly towns.
- Joining EuroVelo (European Cycle Route Network), which is managed by the European Cyclists’ Federation and whose objective is to ensure the implementation of very high quality cycle routes focussing on culture, heritage and nature.

I would like to invite you all to take part in this important event - cycling clubs, communities and groups - so that we can encourage the use of bikes as a means of transport and promote sustainable movement in our local community."
