Free wi-fi in Corfu Town from March

CORFU. Deputy Mayor for European Programmes, Developmen and Electronic Governance Panayiota Tzanne announced that there will be free internet in Corfu Town from next month.
The European Programme wifi4eu voucher, costing 15,000 Euros, was adopted by the previous local authority. The range for free surfing on the internet will cover the heart of Corfu Town - Alexandras Ave., around the Municipal Theatre as well as from the new pedestrian precinct to Liston.
Deputy Mayor Panayiota Tzanne said that this programme will take Corfu into the digital age and told Enimerosi: "Preparations are proceeding satisfactorily. It's a very simple programme but in the future we are planning to develop various other programmes such as smart lighting and smart parking. Our aim is to get rid of the old problems and move forward into a new era."
