International Volunteer Day at the Municipal Theatre

CORFU. Large numbers of pupils and youngsters at the Municipal Theatre on Thursday morning.
Passersby who were worried when they saw the fire engine in town soon realised that it was good news this time - raising awareness about giving in the community and helping children learn about all the types of voluntary activities.
It was a day of awareness and participation with various activities organised by the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal Voluntary Work Department along with the Educational Department in collaboration with the Regional Education Department.
From 09:00 to 14:00 there were various voluntary groups at the Municipal Theatre explaining to visitors the work they did and helping them understand the benefits and importance of volunteerism.
Deputy Regional Governor for Social Welfare Kostas Zorbas spoke to Enimerosi about the importance of volunteerism.
