CORFU. Corfu Port Authority President Spyros Stefanidis and ship΄s captain Kanakaris talk to Enimerosi.
The oceanographic vessel 'Aegaeo' is berthed in Corfu Port as part of the 12th Panhellenic Symposium of Oceanography & Fisheries - "Blue Growth for the Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion and the Eastern Mediterranean". The symposium is being co-organized by the Panhellenic Union of HCMR Employees and the Union of HCMR Researchers, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science of the Ionian University and under the auspices of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, the Municipality of Corfu and the Ionian Islands Region.
The vessel was designed by Spyros Stefanidis, who is now President of Corfu Port Authority. Mr. Stefanidis met with the ship's captain and Enimerosi filmed their emotional discussion.
Also present were the Corfu Port Authority Vice-President, Tasos Kollias, and the Ionian Islands Regional Director for Education, Konstantinos Gousis.
The ship can be visited by the public from Thursday 31 May to Saturday 2 June.
