CORFU. The carnival floats were inspired by current issues.
The weather allowed the Sior Carnavalos Procession to go ahead after all. There was a light drizzle but plenty of floats took part along with dance groups. The Carnavalo float set the tone, naturally – with the burning issue of the day being the transportation of waste away from the island, Carnavalos paraded in a float which was a ship called ‘Corfu-Kozani Express’. Kozani, of course, is a possible recipient of our rubbish.
