CORFU. Efforts by DEYA North Corfu to restore the network are underway – a specialised team from Larissa is coming to repair the pumps.

(DEYA North Corfu) Residents of Peroulades and surrounding areas in North Corfu are protesting strongly, as they are facing serious water supply problems, with the water supply having been cut off for a month.

A representative of DEYA North Corfu told Enimerosi that the problem is due to a combination of technical failures and increased demand. Specifically, there is a burnt-out pump that needs to be replaced, as well as clogged pipes in the network that are currently under repair. At the same time, due to the season, water consumption has increased significantly, resulting in the network being unable to cope.

To address the pump issues, DEYAK is requesting the assistance of a specialised crew from Larissa, which has the appropriate equipment and visits the island at regular intervals specifically to repair and restore such systems.

Meanwhile, local DEYA North Corfu crews are working daily to fix the remaining network faults, which are numerous.

At the same time, the DEYAK administration acknowledges the seriousness of the situation and states that efforts are being made to find an immediate and permanent solution, so that water supply in the area can return to normal.
