Four arrested for stealing mobile phone from 13-year-old on bus
CORFU. Four Greek nationals, three of them minors, were arrested in Corfu for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a 13-year-old passenger on a city bus. The minors’ parents have also been included in the case for failing to properly supervise their children.
Police officers arrested four Greek nationals—three minors and one 19-year-old—as part of an investigation into a theft reported to the police.
According to a statement by the Hellenic Police, the arrests were made on the afternoon of Saturday, June 13. The case concerns an incident that occurred on the evening of Friday, June 12, when the four suspects, allegedly acting together, stole a mobile phone from a 13-year-old passenger aboard a city bus in Corfu Town.
A criminal case file was opened against the arrested individuals on charges of joint theft. The parents of the three minors are also included in the case file and are accused of neglecting their supervisory responsibilities.
The four suspects were brought before the Public Prosecutor of the Corfu Court of First Instance so that the legal procedures prescribed by law could be followed.
