Major electricity problems in Karousades and Magoulades
CORFU. Numerous DEDDIE crews are working across the island, and reinforcements have arrived.
The northern and western parts of the island are experiencing the most severe electricity outages following damage to the distribution network caused by recent storms. The hardest-hit areas include Karousades and Magoulades, as well as Avliotes and Peroulades, which have been without power since the early hours of Friday. Landslides in these regions have brought down utility poles.
DEDDIE crews are on the ground, with teams operating across the island. Reinforcements have arrived from Patras and from contracted crews in Arta to speed up repairs.
Authorities are aiming to restore power as quickly as possible, though no specific timeline can be confirmed at this stage.
