Concert by Argentine flute and guitar duo ‘Mastruzzo – Núñez’: ‘Tangos del Olvido’.

Tonight, Monday, October 20, at 7:00 PM, the Argentine flute and guitar duo Mastruzzo–Núñez will perform “Tangos del Olvido” at Corfu Archaeological Museum. Admission is free.

The programme celebrates the rich musical heritage of Argentine tango, featuring works by iconic female composers and performers such as Tita Merello, Nelly Omar, Libertad Lamarque, María Elena Walsh, and Eladia Blázquez. The repertoire is inspired by the collection “Songbook: Mujeres compositoras de tango desde los inicios hasta la actualidad” by Soledad Venegas and Julia Winokur, with arrangements for flute and guitar by composer and guitarist Federico Núñez.

The concert will also include excerpts from Astor Piazzolla’s works—the opera “María de Buenos Aires” and “L’Histoire du Tango”—highlighting the central role of women, both real and symbolic, as a source of inspiration for this legendary Argentine composer.
