Cricket Festival 2025 in progress

A ten-day period with many interesting matches has begun for the Cricket Festival 2025, organised by the Hellenic Federation, with games taking place both at the Marina Gouvia ground and at the historic Lower Square field.

The Cricket Festival 2025 kicked off in Corfu with great success, offering outstanding cricket and confirming the dynamic nature of the event as a leading institution of both sporting and cultural character. The festival, which brings together athletes and fans from all over the world, reaffirms Corfu’s role as a key destination for sports tourism and international cooperation.

Detailed match results from the opening days:

• April 25: The match between Durham Dorados and CORFU XI took place at the Marina Gouvia ground, with the Greek team delivering a strong performance and securing the win.

• April 26: The Byron team (BYRON CC) recorded an important victory against Durham Dorados.

• April 27: The National Men’s Team, led by captain Giorgos Galanis, gave an excellent performance and defeated the English team Durham with a high score, demonstrating its continued upward trajectory.

The Cricket Festival 2025 continues to strengthen Corfu’s position on the global cricket map, highlighting it as a hub of international cooperation and cultural promotion. The participation of foreign teams and the high quality of the matches make the festival a meeting point for the international cricket community.

• Sunday, May 4, 10:00: Beaconsfield CC vs. Women's National Team (T20) – Spianada

• Sunday, May 4, 11:00: Royal Navy vs. Men’s National Team (T40) – Marina Cricket Ground

• Monday, May 5, after 16:00: Royal Navy vs. CORFU XI (Friendly) – Marina Cricket Ground
