Corfu Airport to close again for work to be carried out
CORFU. There will be no flights for two periods of time - in early winter and January 2025.
According to a post from Corfu Civil Aviation Authority Employees Union, Fraport has announced the periods during which Corfu Airport will be closed next winter. From November 18 to December 8 and from January 13 to January 31, 2025, there will be no flights by airlines, as the runway will be closed and only air ambulance helicopters will be able to land.
The post points out that the work is not being carried out at the company's initiative but constitutes a commitment made by the Greek Government in 2014 in response to a remark by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the relevant project should have been completed. This is being done with funds from the Greek Government and financing from the Recovery Fund.
