All Together for Corfu: 4.5m plastic bottle tops go for recycling!

CORFU. The first lot of plastic bottle tops in 2022 are on their way to the recycling facility.
The head of All Together for Corfu announced that 4.56 million plastic bottle tops won't be going to Temploni or Kozani to be buried, but will be recycled.
Spyros Neratzis released the following statement:
Damage to the environment doesn't only affect us, but also neighbouring Kozani and Palero.
Collecting plastic bottle tops contributes to a culture of recycling and respect for the environment and becomes even more significant when we see that most bottle tops are collected by children in nursery and primary schools!
Ten years have already passed since Corfu Initiative began collecting plastic bottle tops. With a lot of time, patience and persistance from Adriana, Kostas, Christina and the other children, the collection of tops has now become a habit.
In February 2018, I took over the responsibility for this initiative with the All Together for Corfu voluntary group and we would like to thank all our fellow citizens for their participation.
We would also like to point out that Cava Diopon has played a major role in this initiative. It has provided storage space along with personnel, vehicles and equipment for loading - all with a big smile! Our thanks go to Babis and Spyros Tasoulas along with all their company's staff.
