Green Pelekas Environmental Association recycling day

Green Pelekas Environmental Association successfully organised a recycling event on Saturday, 7 December. They posted the following on social media:

"Today, the weather gifted us with two wonderful hours. We had 26 recyclers and collected 6 cubic metres of materials:

• 3 cubic metres of plastic bottles
• 0.75 cubic metres of plastic nylon
• 0.25 cubic metres of plastic detergent containers
• 0.25 cubic metres of plastic food containers
• 0.25 cubic metres of white tin
• 0.10 cubic metres of aluminium
• 0.75 cubic metres of paper and cardboard
• 0.5 cubic metres of glass
• 2 damaged microwave ovens

Thank you all for your participation and for your lovely company. We also had three families who brought their babies to recycle and learn, as well as two teenage neighbours who helped a lot with our visitors. We thank LIAPADES CLEANING BUDDIES and also Ftimios Bizis for the transportation and Spyros Bizis for the assistance. It was truly a wonderful experience. See you next Saturday, 10-12, hopefully."
