CORFU. The climate crisis protest took place in Corfu without a particularly large turnout.
A climate crisis protest took place early on Saturday afternoon in Annunziata Square as part of the worlwide demonstrations during the UN Climate Summit in Glasgow.
Corfu Society for the Protection of the Environment called on local groups and members of the public to join the demonstration at 12:00 today.
The Society says that the talks in Glasgow will not lead to any real and effective measures and that the leaders of the planet will fail to find a solution to protect the environment and halt the climate crisis.
"Those who are responsible for the destruction of the environment worldwide neither can nor want to find a solution to protect it.," said Corfu Society for the Protection of the Environment President Vera Koronaki. "The environmental movement that is growing worldwide can provide a solution. The protests on 6 November can help bring together all the voices that are calling for decisive measures to protect the environment and bring the climate crisis to an end."
