CORFU. Demonstration from environmental groups along with individuals for World Environment Day to save our natural wealth.
Demonstration from Corfu Coordinated Environmental Organisations for World Environment Day in Corfu Town this evening.
There was a demonstration in Old Town Hall Square at 19:00 this evening against the Ministry of Environment legislation followed by a march to Pentofanero where the environmental organisations held events.
According to the announcement from Corfu Coordinated Environmental Organisations, on Sunday 7 June the Erimitis Plus Association is organising a guided excursion in Erimitis to raise awareness and to clean up the area. Meet-up in Agios Stefanos, Sinies at 09:30 and 11:30.
Corfu KNE (Young Communists) is also organising an excursion to Issos in South Corfu on Sunday 7 June.
Corfu Coordinated Environmental Organisations says: "We are against the legislation which aids the projects being prepared for our island which will destroy the environment and against the political downgrading of the environment."
