CORFU. The seminar "Green Schools, the green key to a better Environment" is being co-organized with Mareblue Beach Resort at the school on Wednesday 20 February at 09:00.
This significant event is part of the programme ERASMUS+, GREEN SCHOOLS for a sustainable future 2.0 which Skripero school, representing Greece, is participating in along with schools from 5 other countries.
At the seminar managers from the hotel will talk about the procedures and methods it uses which has led to the hotel receiving the Green Key certificate. Green Key is an ecological badge of quality for tourist properties. Tourism businesses that wish to be certified have to fulfil certain ecological conditions. Green Key was set up by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an international NGO focussed on worldwide environmental education. FEE manages and coordinates Green Key worldwide and in Greece the national coordinator is the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, which Skripero School is a member of.
At the event pupils will also update village residents on the school's ecological activities and will clean up the pupils' bus stop and shelter.
