NEW YORK.The new Greek Consul in New York Lana Zochiou, whose parents are both from Corfu, took up her new duties two weeks ago and attended a celebration with expatriates which included the Asgata Association ‘Cyprus’ and a concert by the ‘Kafavis Group’ at the Stathakio Centre in Astoria.
Speaking to the newspaper The National Preacher, Ms Zochiou expressed her gratitude for their warm welcome and told them that it was the first time that she had participated in an expatriate event. She went on to say that the warmth and love with which she felt herself surrounded would be invaluable support for the demanding work which lay ahead.
