CORFU. Following the invitation of the Region of Ionian Islands, in collaboration with the Greek Parliament, seven expatriate politicians from the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa visited Corfu.
On Monday morning they met with the Regional Governor, Theodoros Galiatsatos, and the Mayor of Corfu, Kostas Nikolouzos, and also paid a visit to the Ionian Academy.
The main topic of discussion was the upcoming International Ionian Diaspora Conference, which the Region of Ionian Islands is organizing in the summer of 2018. According to the expatriate politicians, further events are expected, which aim to support Greek business and economy.
Mr. Galiatsatos announced afterwards that one of the Region’s aims is to work closely with the expatriate politicians, who have expressed an interest in helping in any way they can.
