"Petar" weather system hits Corfu

The "Petar" weather system passed by Corfu today, with power outages in the Kassiopi arrea. On Saturday morning, there was an alert on 112 warning of extreme weather conditions (strong storms, hail, lightning) until late Saturday evening.

Forces from the Coast Guard, Fire Department, along with other individuals had to rescue ten people from Porto Timoni beach, who were unable to leave due to heavy rainfall. The heavy rainfall made the ascent to the main road very difficult, so they had to be rescued by sea.
