Two missing young Italian tourists found safe after getting lost on path

A search and rescue operation to locate two young Italian tourists who got lost while exploring a remote area of Corfu was successfully completed on Thursday night.

The two men were hiking on a trail between Limni and Magoulas when they realised they had lost their way and were unable to find the route back. They then called for assistance.

Eight personnel from the 15th Special Forest Operations Unit (EMODE) immediately responded.

The operation was carried out under the exemplary coordination of the Commander of Corfu’s 1st Fire Station.

Thanks to the rescuers’ swift intervention, the two tourists were quickly located, were found to be in good health, and were safely escorted to a secure area.
