CORFU. They were stranded on a remote beach due to the high tide.

A rescue operation to free two people was carried out on Wednesday evening in Sidari, North Corfu.

The two were a Ukrainian man and woman who became trapped on a remote beach in the area when the water rose dangerously due to the high tide, making it impossible for them to return safely.

Firefighters from the Thinali Fire Station and a team from the 15th EMODE Unit rushed to the scene and took part in the operation. Thanks to the rescuers’ prompt intervention, the operation was successfully completed, and the two people were brought to safety, unharmed.
