British tourists rescued after car sticks in mud at Cape Drastis

CORFU. Firefighters managed to reach and free the couple and their son, transferring them to a safe location.
A British couple and their son had to be rescued by the Fire Service on Wednesday night after their car became stuck in deep mud on a steep dirt road at Cape Drastis, following heavy rainfall.
The family found themselves stranded when their vehicle became immobilised in the muddy terrain, leaving them unable to move.
Two fire engines with four firefighters were dispatched to the scene to carry out the rescue. Given the poor road conditions and the late hour, the priority was to ensure the tourists’ safe transfer.
Firefighters managed to reach the couple and their son, freeing them from the vehicle and escorting them to safety.
