CORFU. "FODSA is a public benefit and non-profit organisation - The proposal to set up a Regulatory Authority to oversee the market in a non-purchase sector is completely incomprehensible."
Along with others, the FODSA (Solid Waste Management Organisation) network has come out against the Ministry forEnvironment and Energy legislation to set up an Energy Regulatory Authority for the waste management sector.
In a statement, the network said, "The State simply aims to target the FODSA organisations and the local authorities as only they are considered to be possibly responsible for the problems in the sector."
It is recommending that the legislation doesn't go to a vote until the Coordinating and Guiding Committee for Solid Waste Management convenes and is consulted.
