Work begins on disinfecting and repairing underground waste containers
CORFU. The process is ongoing and will continue until all the underground bins in the municipality are cleaned and checked for any damage.
(Central Corfu Municipality) Cleaning, disinfection, and repairs of the Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality underground bins began on Tuesday.
The Municipality’s cooperation with the contractor includes thorough cleaning and disinfection—both inside and outside—of all underground bins, as well as repairs to the access hatches and outer structure wherever necessary.
The process is ongoing and will continue until all underground bins in the Municipality have been cleaned and checked for any damage.
Respect for our community, our fellow citizens, and the environment is also reflected in how we manage and dispose of our waste.
Maintaining a clean and orderly appearance in the areas where bins are placed—both above-ground and underground—is a responsibility shared by both the Municipality and residents.
Please note that the following are strictly prohibited:
• placing waste outside the bins
• not compressing (minimising) waste
• disposing of mixed waste in recycling bins
