Another record month for Corfu Airport
CORFU. It is estimated that the total number of international passengers this year will reach 1.6m.
September was another record month for Corfu Airport with 55 more international flights than the same month in 2021.
Due to the late start to the season, September last year had more arrivals than the pre-pandemic years 2018-19, which are used as benchmarks.
"The record number of international flights will probably also mean a record number of passengers arriving at Corfu Airport in September. It is estimated that the number will be 270k - 300k," said the President of Corfu Civil Aviation Authority Employees Union Dimitris Roussos.
The UK is at the top of the list with 626 flights - almost double the 339 from Germany. In third place is Italy with 169 flights, followed by Poland with 135 and France with 89.
"Based on the data we have at the moment," Dimitris Roussos told Enimerosi, "it is estimated that the number of international passengers arriving from 28 March until the end of the season will be 1.6m or more. It will certainly be more than the 1.5m we had in 2018, which was the best season ever for Corfu Airport."
