Sports goods shop manager arrested – 404 counterfeit products confiscated

(Ionian Islands Regional Police Department) The 61-year-old manager of a sports goods shop was arrested on Monday, May 26, accused of the offence of counterfeiting.
During an inspection carried out by a team of Financial and Economic Crime Unit (SDOE) officials and police officers from the above service, 404 counterfeit items (sunglasses, clothes, bags, etc.) were found and confiscated inside the shop managed by the 61-year-old.
The case file formed against the arrested individual, as well as the shop owner, will be forwarded to the Corfu Public Prosecutor, while the business was also issued an administrative fine of 1,500 euros by the competent authorities.
