On Sunday, May 18, the majority faction of the South Corfu municipal council will convene with the sole item on the agenda being the election of a new mayor. This process will determine the successor to Vassilis Himariotis, who has resigned. The way for these procedures was opened with the signing of the official act confirming his resignation from the position of mayor of South Corfu. The faction is expected to meet on Tuesday afternoon to discuss matters related to the election process and the candidacies for the new mayor.
