Hike from Makrades to Porto Timoni on Sunday 11 May

(Corfu Hiking and Mountaineering Club) The Club's scheduled hike will take place on Sunday, May 11.

Starting from Makrades, we will pass through the traditional settlement of Krinis, traverse the Gaidourostrata, descend to the beach of Agios Georgios, and from there climb to the picturesque village of Afionas, where we will follow the trail to the paradise-like Porto Timoni (including a visit to the rock-hewn chapel of Agios Stylianos), where there will also be time for swimming.

Equipment

• Suitable shoes (hiking boots recommended)

• Hiking backpack

• 1.5–2 litres of water

• Snacks

• Hiking poles (optional)

• Waterproof windcheater

• Season-appropriate clothing

• Personal first aid kit

• Hat – Sunscreen – Swimsuit and towel

• Sunglasses

Departure

Meeting point at 8:30 a.m. in the tour bus parking lot at the Old Port (in front of Mavros Gatos café). Transportation to and from the hike (return approx. at 16:00) will be by chartered bus.

Participation Cost

• €7/person for club members

• €10/person for non-members

• €3/person for those using their own transportation

At the Club's office (14 M. Methodiou St., inside the arcade) on Wednesday 07/05 and Friday 09/05, from 19:00 to 21:00.

Those wishing to become members of Corfu Hiking and Mountaineering Club can fill out the application and declaration forms and pay the annual membership fee of €15 (€10 for the second member in a couple, and €10 for students).
