CORFU. A bag lady collected old items and stored them inside a building. The residents removed them and placed them on the street.
(Municipal Press Release) Regarding photos of piles of objects on Agia Sofia Street, posted on social media, the Municipality's Cleaning Service clarifies categorically that the pictured bags did not contain organic waste.
These are old items collected by a bag lady, which she had stored inside a building before residents removed them and placed them on the street.
Municipal crews came twice, cleared the area and washed the road. According to information provided by the residents to the Deputy Mayor in charge, Spyros Nerantzis, a large volume of materials remains inside the building, and will be removed tomorrow by the Municipality's Cleaning Service.
