On Thursday morning, March 7th, a water pipe burst outside the 14th Primary School, causing flooding in the school. School principal, Kalina Pappa, told Enimerosi that this is the first time such an incident has occurred since she took over the school in June. However, she added that the school often faces similar problems during periods of heavy rainfall, as the water does not drain properly.
A DEYAK crew arrived at the scene to repair the damage.
Ms. Pappa attributed the incident to inadequate maintenance and cleaning of the pipelines and drains.
Due to the amount of water, the children were forced to enter the school by climbing over the railings.
