The founder and owner of Innjobs, Argyris Douliaris, told Enimerosi that the outcome for those interested is particularly positive, based on the experience gained during the first implementation of the initiative on the island.
"We provide the incentive for people to get to know each other, and we strive to find individuals from the local community," he said. "The result is that one in two interested parties reaches an agreement on the spot." he added that the aim was to make it a regular event in areas where finding personnel in local communities is challenging. "Primarily, before transferring people from the mainland, we want to explore the possibilities in the local community. Corfu has undergone changes in its hotels. We now have 14 five-star hotels, altering the qualitative characteristics of tourism in the hotel industry, and consequently, the staffing is changing," he explained.
In-demand skills
There was high demand, particularly for receptionists, restaurant staff, kitchen personnel, reservation agents, housekeeping, and also positions related to the general management of hotels, marketing, purchasing, personal hygiene, and general duties personnel. Mr. Douliaris pointed out that these are sought after by both hoteliers and the candidates themselves, who aim for specific positions.
