Corfu Airport closing again for a day

Corfu Airport runway, which has recently reopened, will close again for one day on Tuesday, February 6, shortly after completing the second phase of construction.

The relevant NOTAM was issued suddenly at 18:20 on Wednesday (31/1), stating that the runway will be closed from 00:01 on February 6 until 06:00 on February 7.

This means that no flights will take place except for helicopter medical transports. Information received by Enimerosi indicates that the closure is in order to deal with an area of the runway that had not been asphalted, causing issues for aeroplanes during landing.

Already, airlines have adjusted their schedules for that day, with no flights now scheduled. Normal flight operations resume on February 7.
