Three of the schools that were holding sit-ins resumed normal classes on Thursday morning; however, three other schools that began sit-ins yesterday morning remain closed.
According to the Ionian Islands Regional Directorate of Education, the sit-ins are continuing at the 5th High School, 1st Vocational High School, and the 1st Laboratory Centre.
The 1st and 2nd High Schools, as well as the 4th High School, are operating normally. No damage has been observed in the schools that were under occupation yesterday. In the school complex of the 1st and 2nd High Schools, in-person classes will commence from the fourth lesson onwards (11 a.m.), allowing sufficient time for the necessary movements of students within the school complex.
Previously, classes were conducted through distance learning; however, since the sit-ins have ended, pupils will return to the classrooms. Parents have already been informed, and those facing transportation issues are encouraged to contact the school administrations.
