CORFU. The project involved the restoration of three of the annexe buildings of the Mon Repos estate, specifically the Mastrokostopoulos Guard House, the Clinic Building and the Personnel Building.

The Central Corfu Mayor Meropi Ydraiou announced the completion of the restoration of the three Mon Repos buildings, who visited the site with the Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros and officials. Meropi Ydraiou mentioned all the interventions made in the Mon Repos estate during her term of office, noting the significant improvement achieved both for the image of the wooded area and the infrastructure.

In particular, the project involved the restoration of three of the annexe buildings of the Mon Repos estate, specifically the Mastrokostopoulos Guard House, the Clinic Building and the Personnel Building. All the restoration work has been completed on all three buildings and within a few days, after the cleaning of the outdoor space, they will be handed over to the municipality. These three buildings have undergone complete and radical restoration work and from the terrible condition in which they were in, they are now a jewel for Mon Repos.

The Mayor stated the following: "I am particularly pleased to see the completion of the restoration project of the three Mon Repos' buildings. It is an effort initiated by the previous municipal authority and a project that has gone through several adventures due to the pandemic and the subsequent energy crisis (2019-2023), resulting in time delays. Nevertheless, today we have seen in person that this project has been completed and is being delivered to the municipality and the community. I will take this opportunity to point out that in recent years interventions have been made within the Mon Repos estate that have been necessary for years. In addition to the cleaning of the wooded part of Mon Repos, we have constructed for the first time within the estate new public toilets which will serve both our citizens and our thousands of visitors. At the same time, the reconstruction of the building located at the entrance to Mon Repos, which has been in a terrible condition for decades, is already underway. For this project, the Technical Services Department has completed all the necessary studies and obtained the approvals of the Central Archaeological Council in order to carry out the reconstruction, which was our promise. It is worth noting that these two projects were implemented from the Municipality's own resources. Last September, both the siting of the Rena Vlachopoulou theatre and the complete file of studies for its reconstruction were approved by the Central Archaeological Council, actions which were time-consuming and demanding. I would like to thank all those who worked to achieve these goals that we set and which at the end of our term of office we have the pleasure to deliver to Corfu and our fellow citizens".
