Central Corfu Municipality acquires four new rubbish trucks and one water tanker
CORFU. Μeropi Ydraiou: "39 new vehicles at the service of citizens during our term of office".
(Central Corfu Municipality) The Central Corfu Municipality acquired four new rubbish trucks and a water tanker, as the Mayor announced in the presence of the responsible Deputy Mayor for Cleaning Services Yiannis Seremetis. Meropi Ydraiou said that in the last 3.5 years the Municipality has acquired a "remarkable" fleet of 39 brand new work vehicles and rubbish trucks.
The Mayor stated that with these dozens of vehicles, it is now possible to provide satisfactory and efficient services to the entire range of the Municipality's operation, stating the following among other things: "With the 39 new vehicles that we purchased, taking advantage of every available funding programme, we renewed the old and created a new fleet of vehicles in our Municipality both for waste collection and for the implementation of projects. We have covered a large deficit and after the acquisition of this infrastructure we are able to provide efficient and upgraded services to citizens."
Today, the Municipality received through the Philodimos II programme four new rubbish trucks and a water tanker for washing streets and pavements, while it can also be used for firefighting. One more vehicle (bin washer) is still expected to be delivered next April. In the last 3.5 years the Municipality has purchased the following 39 vehicles:
- 17 vehicles through a leasing programme
- 3 vehicles through the Philodimos II (A) programme
- 3 vehicles through the Philodimos II (B) programme
- 4 rubbish trucks through the Philodimos II (C) programme (the 4 rubbish trucks received today)
- 3 vehicles through the Philodimos II (D) programme
- 2 vehicles for biowaste through the Horeca funding programme
- 3 rubbish trucks for brown bins (organic waste) through the ESPA programme
- 3 rubbish trucks for yellow bins (paper) through the ESPA programme
- 1 electric washer for roads and pavements
