Incoming Central Corfu Mayor holds meetings ahead of change of local authority

CORFU. The newly-elected Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos and members of his party are holding meetings to get updated ahead of their assumption of duties.

The incoming Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos and members of his party are continuing to hold informational meetings ahead of the newly-elected municipal authority's assumption of duties.

  • On Wednesday morning, 22/11, there was a meeting with the head and executives of the Administrative Authority of the Ionian Islands Regional ESPA Programme. During this meeting, the progress of the implementation of all projects and actions undertaken by the Municipality was discussed. Another meeting with broader participation will follow, focusing on the priorities of the new Regional Programme 2021-2027 in relation to the needs of the Municipality.

  • On the same day in the afternoon, there was a meeting at the Old Town Hall with the Deputy Mayor for Culture and the department employees. Various issues related to the structure and operation of the service were discussed, and the decision of the outgoing Municipal Authority not to organise and operate the Christmas Village this year was also at the forefront.

  • In the evening of the same day, the Mayor had an extensive meeting with administrative staff and collaborators for the establishment of the new Internal Service Organization (ISO). This organisation will be submitted for approval to the Municipal Council in January and will include, among other things, the re-establishment of the Municipal Police and the strengthening of the Technical Services.

  • On Thursday, 23/11, the Mayor, accompanied by members of his party, had a lengthy informational meeting at the Maraslio Town Hall with the Director of Municipal Planning. The meeting revealed possibilities and weaknesses in the utilisation of resources from various funding sources.
