Foreign national, 25, injured by speedboat in Paxos
PAXOS. A 25-year-old foreign national was injured when he was hit by a speedboat on Monday afternoon in Moggonisi, Paxos. The 44-year-old skipper of the Italian-flagged vessel immediately informed Paxos Port Authority.
The skipper transported the 25-year-old to the port of Paxos on the boat, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the Paxos Health Centre. Subsequently, the injured person, who had injuries to the ankle and left arm, was transferred by a private speedboat to the port of Arillas Perdika, where he was picked up by an ambulance and transported to Ioannina General Hospital.
Paxos Port Authority, which is conducting the investigation, arrested the 44-year-old operator of the speedboat for violations of articles 28 and 314 of the Penal Code (bodily harm due to negligence).
