Protocol signed for relocation of South Corfu fire station in Vraganiotika

CORFU. It will be housed in the former Vraganiotika school for one year, while the tender process for a permanent space to be found will begin immediately.

The protocol for the delivery and acceptance of the building in Vraganiotika, where the South Corfu fire station will be housed, was signed yesterday afternoon at the South Corfu Town Hall.

The protocol was signed by the South Corfu Mayor Kostas Lessis, the Fire Chief Nektarios Theodorakos and the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Development Konstantinos Plaskasovitis, who contributed greatly to the positive outcome of this matter.

The relevant documents will be sent in the coming days to the headquarters of the Fire Service for the final approval and the order for the transfer of vehicles and their crews to the new building remains to be issued.

The building is the former primary school in Vraganiotika, which is 220sq.m. and suitable to cover all the necessary needs, while it also has space for 10 large fire engines. It also has a fenced 600-metre yard, in accordance with the requirements set by the Fire Service.

The South Corfu fire station will be housed there temporarily, specifically for one year, while the open tender process for a permanent space to be found will begin immediately, with the South Corfu Municipality covering the financial part.

The inauguration of the fire station will take place within the next few days.
