Reconstruction work in old slaughterhouse progressing
CORFU. The facility will be converted into a modern multi-purpose cultural centre.
Deputy Mayor of Technical Works, Nikos Kalogeros, posted that the reconstruction work in the building which housed the former slaughterhouse in Mantouki is progressing smoothly, with the aim of transforming it into a functional and modern space for multiple cultural uses, thus upgrading the entire area.
The project, with a budget of €940,000, includes the creation of an outdoor space for events, a multi-purpose hall, a workshop for hosting workshops, and an administrative and storage area. The funding comes from the Regional Development Fund and the Public Investment Programme.
The project was included in the INTERREG business programme as a sub-project of Jump by the previous municipal authority led by Mr. Nikolouzos. The municipal authority of Meropi Ydraiou carried out the studies and contracting process for its implementation.
