CORFU. The Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa and the Deputy Regional Governor Melita Andrioti visited on Wednesday 15 December the Parents, Guardians and Friends of People with Special Needs Association and the Special Needs Daycare Centre ‘Melissa’ and offered them sweets.
The Parents, Guardians and Friends of People with Special Needs Association President Spyros Zoumboulidis, along with the Secretary Maria Kontou, the Treasurer Daniil Synadinos and the member Zoe Kakarouga welcomed them.
During the visit, they talked with the young people of the Special Needs Daycare Centre ‘Melissa’, went to the bakery where they bake biscuits and listened to carols by the ‘Melissa’ Choir under the supervision of the musician Georgia Zoumboulidou.
Then, Mr. Zoumboulidis informed them about a very important issue – the establishment of assisted living facilities in Corfu through ESPA funding – and asked for the support of the Ionian Islands Region so that it can finally become a reality and provide relief to the families of people with special needs.
The young people of ‘Melissa’ were happy with this visit and with the support the Authorities and the Ionian Islands Region showed and Mr. Zoumboulidis thanked the latter for their interest and their close collaboration.
