CORFU. Collaboration of the Ionian Islands Agri-Food Partnership, the San Giacomo Cultural Association, and the Corfu Mushroom Lovers’ Association.

A festive Christmas mood and vibrant holiday colours filled Corfu’s Old Town Hall Square on Sunday, December 21, in a successful Christmas celebration organised in collaboration with the Ionian Islands Agri-Food Partnership, the San Giacomo Cultural Association, and the Corfu Mushroom Lovers’ Association. The event celebrated cooperation, local heritage, and the joyful spirit of the season.

Visitors had the chance to discover products from Corfu’s agricultural heritage, sample flavours based on pure local ingredients, and enjoy a festive atmosphere in the heart of the town. The Mushroom Lovers’ Association drew particular interest by highlighting the cultural and nutritional value of mushrooms with hot mushroom soup and mushroom pies, while the San Giacomo Cultural Association contributed significantly to the creation of an authentic Christmas scene, offering mulled wine and sweets.

The large public turnout underscored the significance of initiatives that enhance cooperation among institutions, stimulate the local economy, and reconnect society with its traditions and cultural identity.

Among those attending were the Ionian Islands Regional Governor, Ioannis Trepeklis, Deputy Governors S. Argyros, I. Armeniakos, and S. Koulouris, along with Nikos Mouzakitis, a board member of the Agri-Food Partnership. Regional officials sampled the local delicacies offered, emphasising the quality and gastronomic character of the Ionian Islands. The organisers expressed their gratitude to all participants and renewed their commitment to future actions promoting Corfu and the Ionian Islands.
