Corfu Shelter for Abused Women reopening in November

CORFU. The Shelter provides frontline services for women who are victims of violence.
With the signature of the Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa, the Shelter for Abused Women in Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality was included in the Ionian Islands Business Programme 2014-2020 with the cost coming to €635,750.
The Shelter will operate from 1 November 2021 to 31 December 2023.
The Shelter will reopen in order to both prevent and fight against domestic violence against women and to provide support for those who are threatened in this way in the following ways:
- Accommodation for women and their children
- Social support
- Psychological support
- Employment help
- Networking services
The Shelter provides frontline services for women who are victims of violence and aims to provide women and their children with accommodation, security, psychological and social support from specialists as well as support in the employment market if necessary.
It also assists with access to legal advice and puts them in touch with Advisory Centres.
