Fraport data show significant increase in July arrivals

ATHENS. The number of arrivals and departures at Corfu Airport reflects the situation with tourism in the island.
The figures for July released by Fraport show an impressive increase in arrivals at Corfu Airport compared to July 2020.
Nevertheless, the total number of arrivals in July 2021, cannot reach the numbers of 2018 and 2019, which were both good tourist seasons. It should be noted, however, that those two years were the best ever regarding airport arrivals and local economy in general.
The British are not on top of the list anymore regarding data by country of origin, which is mainly due to the delayed lifting of the restrictive measures in the UK, the general effects of the Brexit on the economy and the fact that the Greek regional airports are being managed by a German company.
